Sarah Fahy Feuyang a composé ce morceau pour son fils Shani né en Martinique en 1997.Elle était alors influencée par le rythme des caraïbes. Ce morceau constitue de fait son originalité afro-classique dont elle aime à se revendiquer. Pianiste, métisse, née de mère martiniquaise et de père d'origine irlandaise, elle crée des morceaux pour piano originaux emprunts de diversité. Exigente et généreuse, elle accorde un soin particulier à l'écriture de ses partitions dont on peut apprécier la présentation et les nombreuses indications de doigtés recommandés pour s'approcher du jeu authentique.
Sur le plan de la technique pianiste, ce morceau permet de travailler les points suivants: les syncopes, les substitutions des doigts,la pédale forte, les mains alternées, les accents, les notes tenues et le phrasé.
